From 20 to 23 June, the first ever Fêtes Maritimes de La Rochelle will be inviting residents and visitors to our historic city to celebrate the ocean! Come and admire all the historic sailing ships, classic yachts and emblematic boats moored along the city's quays. Will you be one of the lucky winners of our competition? Then you'll be able to climb aboard one of the five ‘sacred monsters’ of the seas!
Thursday 20 June: the start of a major event in La Rochelle. For four days, hundreds of sailing boats, from the most modest 4 metres long to the most spectacular 60 metres from bow to stern, will be wowing the thousands of curious onlookers expected on the pontoons of the Old Port and the quays of La Rochelle. Among them, five legendary ‘three-masters’ will open their doors and their prestigious interior lounges to those who have booked their time slot to feel like Jack Sparrow, Luffy or even Captain Hook for the duration of a visit. The festivities also include a grand parade to open the ‘nautical ballet’! Afterwards, you'll be invited to enjoy a range of events, demonstrations and exhibitions dedicated to the marine world, for a moment of discovery and sharing.
On Sunday 23 June, hundreds of guests will gather in the Place du Commandant de la Motte Rouge, just a stone's throw from our hotel, for the Sea Banquet. A unique and festive occasion, this meal will be an opportunity for everyone to taste delicious specialities from the nearby sea, promoting short supply chains.
